No real complaints, we came by boat at lunchtime on two different days of the week. Early in the week it was pretty snappy service and easy to get seated, but near the weekend the whole lake starts packing in and here was no different. We did get seated fine, and the food was great both days. Can't complain, and you sure as hell wouldn't think there was a problem with the US economy when you're in there!
The service seemed ok, food was decent, and fairly quick. But they were taking cash only and staff repeatedly stated they were having issues with the system being down. Then when we were going to pay, our server asked if it was cash or card and we were told cash only when being seated, he acted like they could take a card but it would take much longer because they have to reboot the system. It still took 20 minutes to get a hand written bill to pay cash. Just seemed like peculiar behavior.
Backwater Jack's is a quintessential lake restaurant. Whether you pull up by boat to thier numerous docks, or drive out in the bend to park and walk in, this place has crab legs, bar and grill faire, and other staples of the lake such as rum runners. You're likely to have a great time here.
The best bands around! Decent prices on drinks poolside tables to watch the band. Parking is a little tricky but you can do it if you're wearing your gripping track shoes :)
We had our Christmas party there and we were not disappointed!! Super service, great food and the entertainment was good.! Highly recommend!!
