Resort is in need of some cosmetic upgrades, however the rooms were good size and relatively clean. Our room had an older hard to control a/c heater unit, an older mini fridge, and older furniture compared to our neighbor. The fan and light in the bathroom need to be on separate switches to help with noise at night. No insulation from hallway noise. Indoor pool is very large with ample space for adults to watch kids. Also a ping pong table in the pool area. Nice work out space next connected to pool. Indoor water park was a big draw and the kids loved it. A little pricey at $17; adult observers were $5. The water park had plenty for the kids to do and a snack bar. The temps outside we're cold which created a lot of mist all around inside. It made it harder to see kids. Breakfast buffet was ok but nothing to get excited about. Reasonably priced but wish we had ventured out to eat. Arcade area and bowling alley we're great additions although also showing age. We went in the winter so can't comment on summer activities. Overall the kids loved this place and we enjoyed our stay but look forward to the renovations that are sure to come with the new owner.
We have a fantastic view of the water. Very spacious rooms. There is some construction happening for The new restaurant but it’s awesome. We are booking the rooms now for next year.
We stayed at Tan-Tar-A resort for my company's annual Christmas party. The banquet hall we were in was spacious. The food was tasty and well prepared. Our room was also a good size; we had a double room. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was clean and spacious. Though we only stayed for one night, our stay was enjoyable. The resort has many amenities, we plan to bring the whole family for a weekend get-away this summer to enjoy the lake.
Tan-tar-A resort was a fun place for our family get together. There was plenty for our families to do, the connecting rooms we had were clean & the staff were very friendly. It's setup so you don't have to leave unless you want to. There's little shops, a bowling alley, an arcade, swimming pool, gym, playground & restaurants. Most was accessible through indoor corridors which was good because we went there when it was cold.
I have visited this resort many times over the years. If you are at the lake and needing a place to stay for a couple of days, unless you have a condo this is probably one of the best places you are going to find. The resort has a long history and staying out in the estates will remind you of the summer vacations you spent with grandparents and parents years ago. While there is some residual charm from days gone by, the resorts trys hard to maintain a level of modern amenities and I would say the grounds maintenance is amazing, from what I have observed. The rooms are clean and maintained.
