Very clean shelter. Staff is very friendly. You have to fill an application out to adopt a pet which is understsndable, but you have a two to three day waiting period. That is the only draw back. My boys and I wanted to take a puppy home that day, and it wasn't possible.
We adopted our dog from Dogwood 4 years ago (2012) and we were very pleased with the service and experience. The staff was friendly and quick with their responses. To all the negative reviewers - volunteer one day in a shelter and you'll quickly understand the stress/pressure the staff is under to try and save these animals lives by adopting them out to SUITABLE homes. They have rules for adoptions for a reason. Thank you for all that you do to try and help re-home animals! Keep up the awesome work.
I like how they keep the place kleen for the animals and they let you sign in and visit with the cats and dogs.
My granddaughter almost got bit in face and the staff didnt tell us that the dogs were aggressive. Until after the fact .
We got our Annie from there and take her back every so often. They remember her and she gets so excited.
